Oooohh love love love Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen! We had been driving past signs for Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen and I kept telling Matt that we need to go there.
A couple of weeks ago, we finally made it happen. I didn’t realise that there were 2 locations for Nanna Kerr, Matt and I got into one of our famous ‘discussions’ I thought there was only one until I checked their website…
……turns out Matt was right….
….it’s in writing now so he can print this if he wants to make a note of it…
The day we went to Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen at Pokolbin, it was ridiculously windy. There were no other cars in sight and there were no signs out, we even thought that they were closed. We peeked through the glass doors but couldn’t see anyone. Just as we were about to leave, we thought we’d have a look at the side. We walked in through what looked like a cute little secret garden private dining area to a gorgeous dining area that had an Alice in Wonderland / country feeling – gorgeous!
We were greeted by this lovely waitress who explained that a huge group had just come through and she was at the end of clearing up after them.
We were lucky enough to have the whole dining area to ourselves – perfect! It seems to be the trend in Hunter Valley, people come in like tornadoes and then leave as quickly as they come.
Nanna Kerr’s menu is small but delicious. The hashtag they use is #madewithlove and it honestly shows.
According to their website, they are open for breakfast, lunch and also do a high tea!! High Tea requires a minimum 24 hours notice. Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen would be the perfect location for a high tea. I can’t wait until Juliet is a little bit more older so I can take her here for a mother/daughter (and daddy) high tea brunch.
I am so glad we finally made it to Nanna Kerr’s, being there was like a warm hug on a cold day. Thank you so much Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen, my little family and I will be back very soon! I need to try the breakfast!
